Soulmaking
Uncommon Paths to Self-Understanding

by Michael Grosso

Trade Paperback, 204 Pages

$16.95, ISBN: 193366598X

Genre(s): Fortean Psychic Abilities

IN EVERY LIFE THERE IS A HIDDEN PLOT, a story going on behind the scenes that wants to be told. And it’s often told in the language of dreams, coincidences, intuitions, and strange leaps beyond time and space. In a series of vignettes, philosopher Michael Grosso explores the odder experiences of his life—involving ghosts, UFOs, and the like—that extended his perceptions of reality. It’s an adventure in soulmaking and the unexpected ways the hidden self within tries to speak to us.

What they're saying:

“Much more than a guidebook to the art of soulmaking, Michael Grosso’s new volume sparkles with seminal insights and mind-stretching speculations concerning the soul-building potential of close encounters of the strange kind. Grosso’s narrative gifts are superb and the stories he tells beguile us with their undeniable mysteries like an unforgettable exotic perfume.” — Ken Ring, author of Heading Toward Omega

“Michael Grosso, a philosopher by trade, has long been interested in unusual or anomalous events…out of an ardent desire to ‘remake’ his soul. This ‘soulmaking’ process, which led to the title of this enchanting little book, is seen as the central life task for any thinking person.” — Sam Menahem, author of When Therapy Isn’t Enough

"As far as his puzzling personal experiences are concerned—which may too readily be labelled as 'paranormal' (precognitive dreaming, veridical out-of-the-body-experiences, haunting, etc.) by some readers—one might expect that the accounts are followed by the narrator's interpretations or even claims of what 'really' lies behind the respective incident. The critical reader will be delighted to find that just the opposite is the case. The philosopher Grosso never seems content with final explanations and does not get tired of reflecting arguments for and against his own suspicions, always reminding the reader that solving metaphysical problems is not necessarily the aim and purpose of soulmaking, we should rather deal with them in a honest, open-minded and self-critical way. Soulmaking is a fine autobiographical and thus personal contribution by Michael Grosso, who seems to be well aware of his responsibility as a writer on such a controversial and difficult subject." — Human Nature magazine
