Witnesses to the Unsolved
Prominent Psychic Detectives and Mediums Explore Our Most Haunting Mysteries

by Edward Olshaker
Foreword by Colin Wilson

Trade Paperback, 258 Pages

$17.95, ISBN: 1933665599

Genre(s): Psychic Abilities

A cross between Medium and Unsolved Mysteries, this award-winning book is now available in paperback for the first time…

In Witnesses to the Unsolved, author Edward Olshaker turns to some of the world’s most accomplished psychic detectives and mediums in a quest for the missing pieces to some of our most puzzling mysteries, including the cases of:
-- Martin Luther King, Jr., whose assassination is still an open case after a Memphis trial and a federal investigation reached opposite conclusions in 1999 and 2000.
-- Vincent Foster, the White House deputy counsel found shot to death in 1993. Three-quarters of Americans polled in 2000 did not believe the official ruling of suicide.
-- Kurt Cobain, the voice of his generation whose death by shotgun triggered scores of “copycat suicides” worldwide, even though America’s leading forensic pathologist maintains that the rock icon, with triple the lethal dose of heroin in his body, could not have shot himself.

Also explored are the mysteries surrounding the death of Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, the bizarre fate of former CIA chief William Colby, and much more.

The highly regarded cast of police psychics includes Nancy Myer, investigator of hundreds of homicides in North America and overseas; Robert Cracknell, who was labeled “Britain’s number one psychic detective” when he provided accurate information to investigators of the Yorkshire Ripper serial murders and other high-profile crimes; and Bertie Catchings, named “best psychic in Texas” in The Book of Texas Bests. Prominent mediums Betty Muench, Janet Cyford, and Philip Solomon provide further illumination, along with dramatic evidence of life after death.

What they're saying:

“The reader's eyes will be opened to new insights and evidence into these high profile events...The list of psychic investigators contributing to this original and revealing project is highly impressive.  The work is remarkably professional, and a glowing tribute to creative, investigative journalism.  The evidence presented could open new ‘cold case’ investigations.” — The Mindquest Review

“Especially recommended reading for students of metaphysical studies…offers fascinating insights into the use of psychics and psychic phenomena as a means of solving crime in more than one-third of major police departments across the United States today.” — Midwest Book Review

“For anyone who is interested in a good mystery, [this book] provides plenty of intrigue and raises some good questions relating to the mysteries surrounding these now-famous deaths.” — Jean Christou, Cyprus Sunday Mail

“Well-written…could be profitably read by skeptics and believers alike” — Fortean Times

“If you’re a fan of real-life murder mysteries then this book will likely fulfill your intellectual needs for hard facts and plenty of background data on each case presented. If you’re a conspiracy buff as well there’s plenty here also to appeal to your psychological needs for real-life suspense and intrigue. All of this coupled with the thought-provoking and possible new insights provided by the psychic readings and you have another potentially important and very useful dimension to add in one’s exploration of these prominent unsolved ‘cold cases.’” — Brent Raynes, Alternate Perceptions

”...a fantastic treatise on the world of psychics and psychic phenomena as it relates to solving crimes. In fact, Witnesses to the Unsolved could be utilized as a textbook for students of metaphysical studies and for police academy cadets on how psychics can aid law enforcement...” — Michael Lohr, Mysteries

“...a provocative and riveting work that will engage the interest of professional parapsychologists, historians, and journalists, as well as anyone on the hunt for a terrific read...an absorbing and worthwhile investigation that will expand both our knowledge and our sense of human possibility.” — Joseph M. Felser, Ph.D., author of The Way Back to Paradise: Restoring the Balance Between Magic and Reason

"[Olshaker] carefully offers the cases, data, victims, and investigators, and—when that is all done—succeeds in making a strong case that the conclusions of the various psychics…should not—and indeed, cannot—be dismissed. Something weird and significant does appear to be going on...[This is] a refreshingly different, informative, open-minded and highly thought-provoking book.” — Nick Redfern, World of Whatever

“Olshaker has made a fascinating attempt to apply psychic abilities to some intractable mysteries of recent years, and has definitely highlighted very strange goings-on, whatever the explanation. He and his collaborators are to be applauded for their efforts, and this book should be read by anybody interested in psychic detection.” — Tom Ruffles, Society for Physical Research
